The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit

General Information

Dear readers,

The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit by Beatrix Potter was published in 1906.

The content on this website is made possible courtesy of Project Gutenberg. Their volunteers have done a tremendous job of digitizing tens of thousands of books and then making them available for free download. I've selected some of the books and formatted them on my websites for easy reading from iPhone, Android, and similar mobile phones.

The images on this website are taken from http://www.gutenberg.org/files/45265/45265-h/45265-h.htm.

Because of the website design, I've split the story into 14 sections and added a title to each section.

A Fierce Bad Rabbit

THIS is a fierce bad Rabbit; look at his savage whiskers, and his claws and his turned-up tail.

A Nice Gentle Rabbit

THIS is a nice gentle Rabbit. His mother has given him a carrot.

Would Like Some Carrot

THE bad Rabbit would like some carrot.

He Takes It!

HE doesn't say "Please." He takes it!

He Scratches

AND he scratches the good Rabbit very badly.

The Good Rabbit Creeps Away

THE good Rabbit creeps away, and hides in a hole. It feels sad.

A Man With A Gun

THIS is a man with a gun.

He Sees Something

HE sees something sitting on a bench. He thinks it is a very funny bird!

Behind The Trees

HE comes creeping up behind the trees.

Then He Shoots

AND then he shoots--BANG!

This Is What Happens

THIS is what happens--

This Is All He Finds

BUT this is all he finds on the bench, when he rushes up with his gun.

The Good Rabbit

THE good Rabbit peeps out of its hole,

Sees The Bad Rabbit

AND it sees the bad Rabbit tearing past--without any tail or whiskers!
